Introductions – One to ones …

IntroductionsSuitable when people in the group do not know each other

Invite people to introduce themselves to each other in one to one interviews. This means that you will immediately create noise and a buzz as everyone in the room begins to talk at the same time.

You should encourage them to shake hands (if this appropriate for your group – not all people and/or cultures are happy with hand shaking) and say three things about themselves e.g. where they come from, why they have attended the course, what they hope to learn.

You may change the suggested topics and also encourage them to share more information if they wish to do so.

Every few minutes encourage people to move around and meet more people.

Thought
“When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”
