Be yourself and live your own life - do what you know is right. Sometimes the pressures of society, work and the need to be accepted can flaw our judgement. Do the right thing.

How can we help you?

ON THE JOB TRAINING SKILLS
(Instructional Techniques)

You have been there !

Disaster strikes! The employee has had the appropriate training and signed the appropriate documentation and yet when left on his or her own gets it wrong. The consequences can be extreme in terms of damage, cost and remedial work. Very often it is all down to ‘on the job training’.  Good ‘on the job’ trainers know how to ensure that learning has taken place and how to facilitate a smooth transition from learning, to doing the job properly.

Send your trainers on our two day event and enjoy the security and satisfaction of knowing that your workers are truly skilled to do the job.

During the course delegates will learn and practise instructional techniques in a safe and friendly environment with the opportunity to receive feedback, coaching, end of course assessment and a certificate of competence

As a result of participating in the course delegates will:

1. Be able to deliver an instructional session in training room conditions and to the minimum standards stated in the model provided by the trainer.

2. Be able to write an instructional training package, using the guidelines provided and to the minimum standards stated in the model provided by the trainer.

What they will learn:

How people learn – What causes learning blockages and how to support learners on the job

The Instructional Model – Our trainer will introduce a tried and tested  model for instructional techniques, incorporating terminal objectives, session plans, checking the learning, underpinning knowledge and transfer to work.

Writing the lesson plan.  The trainer provides a model and gives coaching to guide delegates in writing their own session plans that can be incorporated into the company training process.

Assessment – delegates are assessed for competence and coached as required until they become competent.

Duration

Recommended 3 days - shorter and longer courses can be arranged to accommodate specific company requirements.

Who should attend?

Managers, supervisors, trainers and operators who will be required to pass on skills, one to one or to small groups.
